From Fusion to Warehouse Without the Headaches: Webinar Recap
Introduction
In our recent webinar, our CEO & Founder, Shankar Radhakrishnan, and our Product Manager, Dinesh Murugappan, walked us through the evolving landscape of Oracle Fusion data pipelines and how our new BI Connector Fusion to Data Warehouse solution is helping organizations simplify reporting, reduce costs, and empower business users with faster insights.
We not only shared the common pain points with current approaches but also introduced practical solutions, new product features, and a customer success story from a large metro organization in Southern California.
The Pain of Current Fusion Data Pipelines
We began by acknowledging the challenges many organizations face today when moving Fusion data into a data warehouse:
- Rigid extraction methods: Teams often rely on BICC extracts, HCM exports, or BI Publisher reports, all of which lack flexibility.
- Complex staging processes: Data has to be staged in file servers or object storage, with custom scripts or ETL tools before loading into warehouses.
- High costs: Options like replicating Fusion data into Oracle ATP databases are costly.
- Operational headaches: Existing pipelines are brittle, error-prone, slow to deliver reports, and frustrating for both IT teams and business stakeholders.
Introducing Our BI Connector – Fusion to Warehouse Solution
To address these challenges, we introduced a new suite of products and services designed to remove the headaches:
- Certified Fusion to Microsoft Fabric & ADF Connector – plug-and-play connectivity.
- Pre-built data pipeline templates – ready to drop into Fabric or Azure Data Factory.
- Simplified SQL Query Editor for Fusion – easy for non-coders, with an AI-powered version on the way.
- White-glove service – our team builds and deploys pipelines quickly and cost-effectively.
Our solution cuts reporting costs to about one-fifth of legacy options, accelerates time-to-insight, and frees up overburdened data teams.
What Sets Us Apart
With BI Connector, there’s no need for extracts – we enable direct connectivity from Fabric or ADF to Fusion. Here’s what makes us different:
- No data limits: We handle millions of rows without extra charges.
- Pre-built templates: Pipelines are instantly ready for full and incremental refreshes.
- Ease of use: Our simple SQL editor allows custom queries, pre-viewable and reusable across ADF, Fabric, and Power BI.
- Hybrid reporting: We support both data warehouse pipelines and direct ad hoc reporting in tools like Power BI.
Customer Success Story: A Metro Organization in Southern California
We shared a case study from a large metro organization migrating from EBS to Fusion HCM. They were struggling with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and needed seamless Azure integration.
Here’s what we delivered:
- Data pipelines for 70+ HCM tables and views built quickly with our pre-configured templates.
- Significant cost savings on infrastructure and BI analytics.
- Business users empowered with ad hoc reporting in Power BI.
This implementation saved them both time and money while easing their migration journey.
Live Demo Walkthrough
During the webinar, Dinesh demonstrated how our solution works in practice by:
- Installing the BI Connector on the integration runtime server (on-premise gateway for Fabric).
- Setting up the data sources and tables inside BI Connector with Fusion credentials.
- Using lookup tables to automate refresh schedules and incremental loads.
- Deploying pipeline templates in ADF with minimal setup.
The demo showed Fusion data moving seamlessly into a SQL Server database, with scheduled triggers ensuring automated, incremental updates.
Beyond the Demo: Q&A Highlights
In our Q&A session, we discussed additional use cases and integrations:
- Snowflake and Tableau: We already support Tableau–Fusion connections and work with Snowflake via ADF/Fabric.
- Oracle-only setups: Even if an organization is Oracle-centric, we enable direct Power BI–Fusion connections or offload workloads into a warehouse to reduce strain.
- Custom solutions: We are open to co-developing new connections, such as support for Primavera.
Conclusion
Our message is clear: moving Fusion data doesn’t have to be slow, costly, or painful. With the BI Connector Fusion to Data Warehouse solution, you can:
- Deliver reports in hours, not months.
- Cut integration costs dramatically.
- Empower data and business teams with faster, easier access to insights.
If you’re navigating the complexity of Fusion ERP, SCM, or HCM data, our solution is designed to make your journey easier.
