FAQ

Quick Q&A on BI Connector!

Can I start with one reporting area and expand later?

Yes. The ERP and SCM suites both offer a Starter bundle that covers one reporting area of your choice. You can upgrade to Plus (two areas) or Core (all areas) at any time by paying the difference. Your selection is locked at the Starter and Plus tiers, so choose your first area based on your highest-priority reporting need.

Does one price really cover my entire organization?

Yes. BI Connector is priced per organization, not per user or per seat. Whether you have 5 or 500 people accessing your Oracle Fusion reports, the price stays the same. Enterprise support is included in every bundle.

How does BI Connector pricing work?

BI Connector is priced as an annual subscription by suite and BI platform. You choose a suite (ERP, SCM, HCM, or CX), select a bundle tier (Starter, Plus, or Core), and pick your BI platform (Power BI / Tableau, or Fabric / ADF). One price covers your entire organization, including enterprise support. There are no per-user fees and no data volume limits.

What is the difference between the two trials?

The Query Editor free trial gives you instant, self-service access to query your Oracle Fusion data and export to Excel or CSV (no setup required, active for 14 days). The Guided PoV Trial for BI and Data Pipeline automation is an expert-led engagement scoped to your specific use case, where a BI Connector specialist builds and validates a working pipeline with your team.

How long does it take to get started?

The Query Editor trial is instant. Download, install, and query your first Fusion dataset in under an hour. For the Guided PoV Trial, a BI Connector specialist will reach out within 1 business day to scope your use case and get your first pipeline live within days.

Do I need IT or technical resources to start?

No. The Query Editor is designed for business and analytics users. No coding or IT involvement required to query and export Fusion data. For the Guided PoV Trial, our team handles the technical setup with you, so your team gets a working pipeline without needing internal ETL expertise.

What is BI Connector Developer Edition?

BI Connector Developer Edition is a desktop-based SQL development tool designed specifically for Oracle Fusion environments. It provides a modern IDE experience for creating data models, running queries, and extracting data – replacing the multi-step Oracle Fusion BI Publisher workflow with a streamlined 5-step process.

How is BI Connector Developer Edition different from Oracle Fusion BI Publisher?

We’ve all lost hours to the “Oracle Fusion Refresh.” While Oracle Fusion BI Publisher is the industry standard for web-based reporting, it often feels like it’s holding developers back with its 200-row preview limits and the constant logout-login dance between environments. BI Connector Developer Edition flips the script by moving the entire experience to a dedicated desktop client. With a 90% faster startup time, a multi-tab interface that actually lets you multitask, and unlimited data previews, it transforms a sluggish, multi-step process into a streamlined, one-click reality. It’s not just a tool; it’s a productivity engine designed for those of us who live in SQL and BIP all day.See our full comparison of BI Connector vs. Oracle Fusion BI Publisher

Can I use BI Connector with multiple Oracle Fusion environments?

Yes. BI Connector allows simultaneous connections to DEV, TEST, UAT, and PROD environments. You can switch between them instantly using a dropdown menu – no logout/login required.

Does BI Connector support large datasets?

Yes. Unlike Oracle Fusion BI Publisher’s 200-row preview limit, BI Connector fetches complete datasets (500+ rows) for thorough validation. This is essential for AR/AP/GL reports, aging analysis, and large transaction tables.
