FAQ
Quick Q&A on BI Connector!
BI Connector Server Edition is a centralized Oracle Fusion integration solution that automatically extracts, refreshes, and delivers Oracle Fusion and Oracle Analytics data to Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and other enterprise analytics platforms.
BI Connector Server Edition supports Oracle Fusion ERP, HCM, SCM, and CX, along with Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), and Oracle Analytics Server (OAS). It allows organizations to reuse their existing reporting and extraction assets such as OTBI, BI Publisher reports, Fusion SQL, and PVOs.
Custom approaches based on BICC file extracts require teams to build and maintain Oracle Fusion extraction logic, authentication, incremental loading, and monitoring. Generic ETL tools or other Oracle Fusion extraction tools offer limited reporting and extraction options. BI Connector Server Edition provides connectivity to all Oracle Fusion reporting and extraction options out of the box, reducing implementation effort and accelerating enterprise reporting and data integration projects.
BI Connector supports Oracle Fusion base tables, BI Publisher data models, Fusion SQL queries, OTBI analyses, BICC PVOs, and Data Extraction Tool business objects. Support for the Data Extraction Tool business objects is in the immediate roadmap.
Data engineers can select the extraction approach that best fits their reporting, analytics, and data warehouse requirements while delivering the resulting data into their desired platform.
The Oracle Fusion Query Vault is a library of ready-to-use SQL queries for common Oracle Fusion reporting and data requirements that can be used as data sources in BI Connector. It includes queries across areas such as Finance, HCM, and SCM that can be used as a starting point for reporting, customized for specific requirements, and run through BI Connector to access Fusion data.
BI Connector Server Edition delivers Oracle Fusion data to Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Azure SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and other analytics or data platforms using the same centralized Oracle Fusion integration framework.
Yes. BI Connector Server Edition lets you reuse existing OTBI analyses, BI Publisher reports, PVOs, Fusion SQL queries, Oracle Analytics analyses, and data models instead of recreating business logic, preserving existing Oracle reporting investments while accelerating new analytics initiatives.
Yes. BI Connector Server Edition supports automated scheduling, full and incremental refreshes, monitoring, and large Oracle Fusion datasets, making it suitable for enterprise reporting, centralized data warehouses, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and modern analytics environments.
Most organizations can begin delivering Oracle Fusion data significantly faster than building custom integrations from scratch or alternative ETL tools. With pre-built Oracle Fusion connectivity and deployment templates, implementation typically takes a few hours instead of the weeks or months often required for traditional integration.
No. BI Connector Server Edition complements platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory by handling Oracle Fusion-specific data extraction. Your existing orchestration, transformation, and analytics platforms remain unchanged while BI Connector simplifies Oracle Fusion integration.
